Personal Status Lecture at University of Haifa

Alhan Nahas Dauod from the Kayan legal department had a lecture for law students at Haifa University. The lecture was about the status of Arab women in the religious courts, especially, about women who file complaints within the courts, and their rights in divorce, alimony, and seperation. Also, Alhan spoke about the problems and obstacles that women face in obedience orders within the Sharia courts, and alimony payments to women. The lecture also devled into Kayan's experience in representing women in these courts, and the best practices we have found. It is important to note that the material given to the students will be included in their examinations.
The lecture lasted 2.5 hours and was for a total of 80 students.
